Audit Trails & Reporting
What Are Audit Trails?
Audit trails, also referred to as audit logs are time-stamped records of events that occurred during a transaction. They are used to track who did what, when, and where.
Why Are Audit Trails Important?
When you’re sharing sensitive information online, you need to be able to track activity around your files. It’s not enough to send a document off and hope that it reaches your intended audience. You need auditable communication that provides another layer of security for your documents, giving complete transparency over when documents were accessed and by whom.
In addition, audit trails are often regulatory requirements for highly-regulated industries such as legal, financial, accounting, healthcare, insurance, and government. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in fines or other penalities.
