What is Data Encryption?

Data Encryption is a method by which readable information (plaintext) is converted into an encoded format (called ciphertext) using complex algorithms. The information can only be decrypted using an encryption key, which makes encryption one of the most popular and effective methods of protecting confidential information today. Only authorized users with the encryption key will be able to access the sensitive information.

Why is Encryption Used?
